Project Description

LEA India was selected to deliver ‘consultancy services for acquiring and procurement of road asset inventory, pavement condition and roughness data for subsequent development of Road Asset Management System (RAMS) of Public Works Department (PWD) Roads in the state of Manipur.'

The state of Manipur aspires to become one of the most vibrant economies in the north-east region of India by playing a major role in Government of India’s Act East Policy. Consequently, it has laid emphasis on developing road infrastructure. The state is surrounded by Nagaland, Assam and Mizoram on three sides; it shares an international border with Myanmar on the east. Considering its strategic location, the Government of Manipur (GoM) has initiated efforts to improve the road network in the state through the PWD Roads, Manipur, which is responsible for the development and management of state highways and other PWD roads together amounting to about 12,398.84 km. Accordingly, the state government has apportioned funds to collect accurate and reliable data which is a prerequisite for setting up a Road Asset Management System (RAMS) and appointed LEA India to implement this endeavour.
