Project Description

LEA India has been selected by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and the Road Department to offer consultancy services for updating the feasibility study and detailed designs for the Siphofaneni-Sithobela-Maloma-Nsoko (MR14) and Maloma-Siphambanweni (MR21) roads in Eswatini. The Government of Siphofaneni-Sithobela-Maloma-Nsoko the Maloma-Siphambanweni Main Road (MR21) from their current gravel surfaces to paved roads.

This improvement is anticipated to boost agricultural benefits along MR14 and MR21, increase commercial traffic, and enhance services at the Nsalitje border gate. The road development is expected to stimulate economic growth in Lavumisa town and create an efficient regional route connecting to KwaZulu Natal province in South Africa. This project aligns with the country's development vision and is projected to support Eswatini's progression to and beyond Middle-Income status.
