At LEA, we strive towards a common goal, which is self-realization and achieving the highest possible results. The company is fully owned by its employees and everyone’s collective efforts directly contribute to the firm’s longstanding success.
The project entails providing services for construction supervision of the upgrading of Lot 2: Pangani Bridge (525 m), Approach roads (14.3 km), Ushongo Spur Road (5.9 km), and Pangani Access roads (5.4 km) to Bitumen standard, which is under the East African Coastal Corridor Development Project: Bagamoyo – Tanga – Horohoro/Lunga Lunga – Malindi Road Project Phase 1.
The bridge consists of 9 spans with 7 internal spans of 60 m and end spans of 52.5 m which gives a total length of 525 m. The incrementally launched construction requires a launching platform, a steel launching nose of approximately two-third of the span length.
The deck is on a straight horizontal alignment. The vertical alignment is a vertical circle with a radius of 3,292 m. The substructure involved/consists of triangular open piers for aesthetic reasons. The piers are founded on pile caps supported by piles drilled into bedrock. The abutment consists of a wall type structure and retaining wall. The project is expected to facilitate mobility, boost regional trade, and open up access to rural areas. More specifically, it will facilitate the movement of goods and people along the Bagamoyo – Tanga – Horohoro/Lunga Lunga – Mobasa – Malini Road Corridor thereby boosting trade between the two countries, Tanzania and Kanya with the East African Community region and increasing community access to basic services.
The project is being delivered in accordance with the FIDIC conditions of the contract.
